TDS Recon Accessories

Optional accessories make TDS Recon even more versatile

TDS Recon Optical CF-Cap

The new Optical CF-Cap for the TDS Recon features a clear window to allow the Recon the work with selected CompactFlash cameras and bar code scanners. The cap is completely sealed to protect CompactFlash accessories from dust, dirt, water and impacts from accidental drops. You can bundle the Optical CF-Cap with additional accessories.

TDS Recon PowerBoot Module

The TDS Recon ships with a TDS PowerBoot Module rechargeable battery pack. The TDS PowerBoot Module integrates a 3800 mAh NiMH rechargeable battery pack with industry-standard 9-pin serial and USB ports into a single component. With typical usage, you can expect about 15 hours of battery life, or two days' worth of work. As with any battery, length of battery life is impacted by outside temperature and the type of CompactFlash cards you use. The PowerBoot Module recharges completely in about 12 hours. The TDS PowerBoot Module is easy to swap out in the field. With an additional, fully-charged PowerBoot Module on hand, you can exchange battery packs in a matter of seconds to continue working.

TDS Recon AA PowerBoot Module

The AA PowerBoot Module allows you the convenience of using AA batteries. This is ideal for situations where you may be in the field for an extended time without the opportunity to recharge your Recon battery. The AA PowerBoot Module can use either alkaline or lithium AA cells—either kind has an unattended shelf life of years. At room temperature, the Recon can run for approximately eight hours with two AA alkaline batteries or 16 hours with two AA lithium batteries. Like the standard battery, the AA battery boot accessory includes a standard 9-pin serial port and a USB port for connecting your Recon to a PC for rapid data transfer.

TDS Recon Extended CF-Cap

The TDS Recon Extended CF-Cap lets you use larger CompactFlash cards without sacrificing the Recon's rugged performance. It supports larger CF cards, including GPS receivers and 802.11 wireless devices. The Extended CF-Cap features a base piece to connect to the Recon, along with a mounting and quick-release locking mechanism for the extended cap. The cap is composed of radio-wave-transparent materials to maximize the performance of GPS and wireless devices. Finally, the Extended CF-Cap can be completely sealed to protect your CF devices from dust, dirt, water and impacts from accidental drops.
