About Us

History
AFDS based in Houston, Texas, was established in 1995. They are certified for the State of Texas as a HUB vendor and City of Houston MBE. AFDS is also a member of the Houston Minority Business Council and certified as a MWBE.

AFDS provides integrated solutions for GPS/GIS Mapping for utilities, forestry, natural resources, municipalities, infrastructure, telecom, environmental and oil and gas markets in the United States and overseas.

Prior to launching AFDS, the Principals had established A.I.W., Inc. in 1984. A.I.W. Inc. was the pioneer in introducing an intrinsically safe data collector for monitoring fugitive emissions in the chemical, refining and other industries to meet the stringent regulations associated with the Clean Air Amendment Act.

In 1995 due to increased requirements for GPS location information along with source emissions data, the Principals added location option in their package of collecting real time GPS and fugitive emissions data. In the same year Applied Field Data Systems, was established to provide complete GPS/GIS Mapping solutions as well as software development services.
