CSI GBX SERIES
Combination Beacon/GPS receivers

The CSI GBX Series Receiver combines the proven MBX-2 Beacon Receiver with one of several successful manufacturer's GPS receivers into one convenient unit. Users may select an 8 or 12 channel GPS receiver with various performance characteristics, including accuracies from a few meters to sub-meter.

The beacon receiver obtains differential GPS corrections from the international network of DGPS reference stations operated by Coast Guards and similiar agencies around the world. Corrections are applied to the internal GPS receiver to produce accurate positions and other data which may be customized by the user to meet specific needs. (Front panel control of the beacon receiver and serial port control of both the GPS receiver and beacon receiver is available.)

CSI MBX-2
DGPS Radio Beacon Receiver

CSI's MBX-2 Beacon Receiver is the most widely used receiver throughout the world. Many countries are well advanced in their programs to provide free GPS differential correction services along coast lines and throughout inland areas. These differential corrections are being broadcast on radio beacon frequencies (283.5-325.0 kHz) in accordance with standards set out by the International Association of Lighthouse Authorities (IALA). The MBX-2 decodes the differential corrections and applies them to any manufacturer's differential ready GPS receiver.

The MBX-2 offers an AUTOMATIC and MANUAL mode of operation. In automatic operation the MBX-2 uses a unique fail-safe scan and track algorithm to ensure the optimum station is being tracked. In manual mode the operator uses the front panel controls to select stations and monitor performance. The MBX-2 complies with the NMEA 0183 protocol for control by a GPS receiver. Various antenna options are available, which include a combination beacon and GPS antenna as well as E-field and H-field antennas for land, sea and aerial applications.

CSI ABX-1
Radio Beacon Receiver

CSI's competitively priced, fully automatic ABX-1 Beacon Receiver employs the advanced technology of the popular CSI MBX-2 receiver. The ABX-1 is designed to provide fully automatic reception of differential GPS tranmissions. Throughout the world many countries are well advanced in their programs to provide free GPS differential correction services along the coastlines and through inland areas. These corrections are being broadcast on marine beacon frequencies (283.5-325.0 KHz) in accordance with standards set out by the International Association of Lighthouse Authorities (IALA).

The ABX-1 decodes the differential corrections and applies them to any manufacturer's differential ready GPS receiver. The ABX-1 offers automatic operation by using a unique fail-safe scan and track algorithm to ensure the optimum station is beingtracked. The ABX-1 complies with the NMEA 0183 protocol for control by a GPS receiver.
