Technical Specification for LaserAce 300
| The World's First Personal Laser Surveying System
Now is the time to throw away all your preconceptions of laser surveying equipment. The LaserAce® 300 is a sophisticated surveying and mapping tool that will help you work faster than ever before. Don't worry about the terrain or conditions as MDL's LaserAce® 300 means you can now survey dangerous or inaccessible areas in complete safety from one location. MDL's Class 1 LaserAce® 300 is a high performance pulsed laser range finder incorporating an integral inclinometer with a visible red dot pointer for accurate targeting. With 'point and shoot' simplicity, data is processed and displayed on a custom, multi-functional LCD. The LaserAce® 300 has many unique internal functions including range, 2 and 3 point heighting, slope, missing distance, perimeter and area calculations. Use the LaserAce® 300 all day long using only 2 AA cells. Don't worry about tired arms as this innovative personal laser surveying system weighs only 600 grams. The RS232 data port allows the LaserAce® 300 to communicate with a wide range of GPS receivers, computing devices, volumetric, GIS and CAD software on the market. Add the LaserAce® 300 to any GPS system and significantly increase your productivity whilst maintaining decimetre accuracy. |

| Product Use and Angles
MDL's LaserAce® 300 is simple to use with little or no expert knowledge required making it truly on of the most advanced and versatile laser surveying solutions available today. The LaserAce® 300 has been designed to be used as a hand-held instrument and is held just like a camcorder and aimed directly at a target. If you require stability during operation, no problem, the LaserAce® 300 can be pole or tripod mounted. The laser calculates measurements within a second using an average of 19 readings for complete reliability. Passive measurements can be made up to 300 meters, which means that you can survey from a safe and comfortable position and there is no need for an additional crew member. By using a reflector, ranges of up to 5km can be achieved. Add MDL's digital compass or angle encoder to the LaserAce® 300 at any time to enable accurate horizontal angles to be measured giving the system full 3D capabilities. Choose the compass for a highly portable, lightweight solution or use the encoder where a more accurate horizontal angle is required. Both the compass and encoder can be interchanged within seconds. So whatever your requirements, we've got all your angles covered, the choice is yours. |

| GPS
The LaserAce® 300 when used in conjunction with GPS is a very powerful combination indeed. These tools allow you to collect attribute and location data in situations that would otherwise be very difficult or time consuming. Forget about the need to climb over fences, scramble through bushes or cross a river. Find any GPS position in a convenient location and record all other positions, some of which may be difficult or impossible to occupy, all from a single point. MDL's LaserAce® 300 provides you with angles and distances which, when combined with the current GPS position, gives the co-ordinates of remote points. Additional attributes, such as height, width or offset can also be quickly and easily measured with the LaserAce® 300 for inclusion in your GIS database. MDL have worked with leading GPS manufacturers to ensure that direct links have been made to their hardware. Interfaces are included in these systems that take offsets directly from the LaserAce® 300 via the serial port, which are applied to the GPS position so that you can later plot or export the true location of the object that could not be occupied by the GPS. There are many instances where a good signal cannot be obtained from GPS such as under a tree, next to the side of a tall building, in a tunnel or cave, in a parking garage or under a bridge. Where GPS cannot reach, use the LaserAce® 300. The LaserAce® 300 will greatly improve your productivity and efficiency as many places either difficult or impossible to measure to, can have an offset applied in conjunction with the GPS position. Improved productivity and efficiency makes you more competitive. |
